Assessment of inter-professional seminar involving partner-patients and caregivers

Teaching collaborative practices and interprofessional communication has become a central interest in health care education. Since 2018, order to pursue this objective, seminars are being organised Brussels at faculties. These bring together pre-graduate students from eight disciplines: doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, osteopaths, social workers, pharmacists, occupational therapists public health. The two main objectives learning communication, involving patients their therapeutic decision-making process. held 3-hour sessions by groups of approximataly 15 students. During the first meeting, encouraged freely discuss perception specificity future professional practice: skills, roles, limits, etc. second session, clinical case is presented them they must define multidisciplinary support plan centred on patient's life project. last seminar, patient-partner present each group encourage reflection. In evaluate results seminars, participants requested answer pre/post questionnaire identity, collaboration place patient strategy. 740 participated course. underline that type teaching allows feel more confident skills (z= -7.320; p<0.001) encourages include process -4.529; p<0.001). Moreover, it appears better identity -5.353; This introduces practices, which, according studies, leads be open practice after graduation making abilities implement structured team approach understanding will promote optimal well-being caregivers.
